Signing of collaboration agreement with the Association of Notaries of the Federal District

The National Electoral Institute (INE) and the Association of Notaries of the Federal District (CNDF) signed a collaboration agreement with the aim of strengthening the implementation of the guiding principles of certainty, legality, independence, impartiality and objectivity in the facts or acts legal linked to the election of 60 deputies and to integrate the Constituent Assembly.

President, Lorenzo Cordova and the President of the Association of Notaries of the Federal District, Sara Cuevas Villalobos, Director shaped each agreement seeks to contribute to the legal certainty of acts inherent in electoral competition, at the request of polling officials, competitors or even the electoral authority in the election of deputies and the Constituent Assembly of Mexico City.

Accompanied by the Electoral Councillor Marco Antonio Baños; the Executive Secretary, Edmundo Jacobo; Vice-CNDF, Luis Antonio Montes de Oca; the Legal Director of INE, Gabriel Mendoza and the head of the Secretariat of the Institute, Jorge Lavoignet; Lorenzo Córdova thanked the willingness and commitment to assist notaries in the certainty and legality of the election.

"The common principles we have notaries and electoral authorities provided we attend in the design of the regulations for the INE will implement the new feature Electoral Oficialía, this favored the generation of synergies in the development of electoral processes and the exercise our legal responsibilities, "he said.

The Director Chairman of the INE said that the certainty provided by the intervention of notaries contributes to the credibility of the electoral process and to demonstrate impartiality in the performance of acts which mandates the law.

For his part, the President of the College of Public Notaries Federal District stressed the importance of this agreement to reaffirm the support of the union in various electoral processes.

During the electoral processes of 2009, 2012 and 2015, notaries have been required to certify and attest

multiple events, states and situations that have been related to electoral matters, either in preparation or after the voting day, within which highlights the events of sending, receiving, processing, counting and destruction of voter registration cards with form photograph.

This collaboration agreement signed between the INE and CNDF establishes guiding principles to arrange the logistics and performance of notaries DF in various acts requested by citizens, candidates, party representatives and election observers before, during and after the Election Day next June 5, 2016.
